STORIES FROM THE WILD

why us

We’ve filmed in every corner of Maine, through every season, and in conditions that test even the most seasoned crews. We know how to plan, how to adapt, and how to move through the field without getting in the way.

We’re not in this to make another video. We’re here to craft films that reveal the why behind MDIFW’s work—stories that resonate and stay with people long after they’ve watched.

Our Approach

We approach each project with the same mindset: get close to the work without getting in the way, and bring back visuals and stories that feel as alive as the places we’re filming.

Our crews are built for the field. Small, experienced teams who know how to move lightly and adapt quickly—whether it’s on snowmobiles, ATVs, boats, canoes, or on foot with hip waders and backpacks.

We prioritize quality over quantity. Every shot, every interview is treated with the same precision as a commercial production, because we believe these stories deserve that level of care.

We also capture still photography alongside video, giving MDIFW a cohesive set of assets for your catalog, outreach, and promotion.

THE ASSIGNMENT

MDIFW is seeking a series of short films that showcase the depth and breadth of the department's most significant work. A dynamic series that educates, engages, and reaches a wide audience.

We understand the goal:

  • Bring people closer to the work happening across Maine.

  • Highlight the connection between wildlife, habitat, and human effort.

  • Build a stronger sense of public understanding and support for MDIFW’s mission.

This isn’t new territory for us. From the Maine Bear Program to other projects, we’ve built trust with your teams and have a deep respect for the work you do.

wildlife conservation
in action.

We know this work because we’ve done it. We’ve hiked into remote woods with MDIFW teams, crossed frozen streams with cameras on our backs, and filmed long days in tough conditions to capture Maine’s wildlife and the people protecting it.

This project isn’t just about documenting conservation. It’s about helping the public understand it—why it matters, why it’s worth supporting—and doing it with the same care your field teams bring to their work.

We’re ready and available to take it on.

Lone Spruce has an uncanny ability to find the heart of a story. They captured the soul of our work in a way that feels both raw and beautifully polished.

They’re the kind of crew you want in the field—calm under pressure, quick to adapt, and never a burden to the work around them.

Mark and his crew built trust with our team and told their stories with a respect and intimacy that reflects who we are and why we do what we do.
