Our Approach
Grain has a clear point of view, and this needed to reflect it without overworking it. We partnered closely with their team to understand where the brand began and what it has grown into, then built the film around that balance. Production moved between their workshop in York and the water itself—capturing the process, the people, and the environment they live in. From shaping bays to cold October surf, we blended workshop detail with water-level and underwater imagery to create something that felt cohesive, immersive, and true to the brand.
THE RESULTS
The result is a film that feels as considered as the boards themselves—grounded, tactile, and built to last. It gave Grain a clear, elevated way to communicate their story, connecting their craft to the experience of being in the water while reinforcing the identity that sets them apart.
Lone Spruce blew us away. They took the time to understand our brand and came back with something better than we expected—something that genuinely reflects who we are and what we’re building.
